Sword of the Righteous - The Battle of Thirty Dreadnaughts
Medal Text:
On July 2, YC 121, a day which will live in infamy, LUMEN's fortizar "Tebu Amkhiman" aka "The Thousand Lights" in Tanoo, San Matar constellation, was suddenly and deliberately attacked, without warning, by a fleet of thirty Blood Raider 'Chemosh' Class Dreadnaughts with support sub-capitals that somehow circumvented restrictions on Capitals in high security space. An emergency muster followed, and after a battle of about two hours the Blood Raider strike was defeated and their forward operating base destroyed with no defender casualties.
"We fired our guns and the Blooders kept a-comin'
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
Down the Querious to the Delve-oooo"
-Excerpt from a Ballad post-battle, sung by a Chief of Boat on one of the LUMEN vessels
Lyra North-Onren's Comments:
I was alerted through our channels that the blooders were hitting the Fortizar, leaving my quarters in the station and going to man the guns, only to be so very surprised when I saw all the Dreadnoughts on field. I started shootin’ at the ships, takin’ out some of the sub-caps first, to ensure things were safe for the fighters while LUMEN and our allies formed a fleet. In addition to the LUMEN pilots, we had a few pilots from PIE, and DT-HG as well as a smattering of other friendly individuals. The Ammatar Navy also made some appearances to help during the fight. I am happy to report that all of the attackers have been destroyed and we did indeed chase them back to their Forward Operating Base, destroying it.
This attack was no accident. The LUMEN Alliance reflects on its namesake, Khimi Harar, well, as we are a Light in the Darkness… and clearly the heretics wishing to do harm to the Empire, the Mandate, and all of Dam-Amarr have taken notice.
I’m very impressed at the speed in which we formed such an impressive fleet and how decisively we crushed the blooders, to be honest.
“Surround yourself with the faithful, Stand together, for there is no strength like it under the heavens.”
- The Scriptures, Book of Missions 71:21
Considering the Dreadnoughts were able to break through the high security systems in-place and attack our Fortizar, I suspect we may also be dealing with enemies from within. Though I hope it is not the case, any who may be responsible know this: You can’t hide forever. Light will be cast upon your sins.

OOC Discussion - Esna Pitoojee Comments-
This has to do with an ongoing story arc involving the Amarr Empire and some potentially traitorous elements within it.
What happened today?
Around 18:47 Eve time, we (Khimi Harar) received word that our Citadel in Tanoo was being attacked by Blood Raider NPCs. This is unusual even with a Forward Operating Base in-system, but we didn't think much beyond getting a gunner on-station - until the initial gunner reported that there were in fact Blood Raider dreadnoughts among the attacking fleets!
We pinged hard for defenders and managed to get a modest defense fleet on-station in due time, being joined early on by fellow Amarr-loyalist alliance PIE and Dam-Torsad Honor Guard. I got to fleet a bit later, but turned up within ~15 minutes of things getting started. What followed was an hours-long slog as we chewed through mutliple waves of Blood Raider NPC dreadnoughts and other subcapitals. Later, Phoenix Naval Syndicate also turned up to assist us. Part of the duration is that we quickly figured out that - while there were a lot of them - the NPCs really didn't pose a threat to our well-coordinated fleet, and so we opted not to call in further backup (though some people filtered in anyhow).
By 21:00 Eve time we had wrapped up most of the NPC attackers on-station (some had been delayed reinforcing a nearby Azbel), and a Khanid Navy NPC character arrived. Some terse but 'friendly' words were exchanged with the Amarr defenders over story reasons, during which we also wiped out the FOB in system.
Special thanks to all those who came out to lend us a hand!
